One of the most important keys to SCD success is using your own psychology to make sure the diet is working for you. It’s easy to get lost in the fog, think the diet isn’t working, and then feel like giving up before you take back control of your health. The breakthroughs are so hard to realize in the moment that it can crush your momentum.
For example, if you have a setback a couple days in a row because you tried a new food, it can be easy to think that the diet stopped working and you’re back to being sick again. But, if you pause for a moment and think back, you might realize that what you call diarrhea now was actually a decent poop 3 months ago when you were going 10 times a day! It’s so easy to forget what that was like and get stuck in the daily ups and downs.
This week we recorded the podcast during a ritual that we do every so often to reflect on how far we’ve come and make sure to remember that the diet is still working for us. It’s dripping with our personal stories about when we were sick and what it’s like being better.
If you feel like the diet isn’t helping you get better, then listen to this podcast for a technique to make sure that the diet is still working for you. Also, if you’re thinking about starting the diet, then listen to this podcast to learn the number 1 technique you can do along the way to make sure it’s worth your time.
