    Hey Steve & Jordan
    Just writing to offer my sincere thanks.
    After about 10 years of poor health (numerous doctor’s & costly specialist appointments & medications which made me feel SO much worse & numerous other treatments such as homeopathy, acupuncture etc…) and NO definitive diagnosis or resolution of symptoms, I decided to try your Intro SCDiet.
    I was suffering intolerable pain/swelling in my feet & hands, fatigue, heat sensitivity & various food intolerances. I had been screened for coeliac gene & it was present. Spent the last few years on gluten free diet but still felt ill.
    But once on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, I immediately felt much better, lost the foggy brain feeling & a few kilos very fast (great, I needed to shed some weight because I had recently broken my toe & spent 9 weeks unable to walk or exercise properly!)
    After about a week of the diet, the most bizarre thing appeared. I had a massive attack of joint swelling/pain which virtually immobilized me.
    Paradoxically, THIS WAS JUST SO GREAT because suddenly, with such obvious symptoms, my medical practitioner was able to recognize that I was suffering from gout! I have NO lifestyle factors for this disease, as I do not drink alcohol, rarely eat meat, rich gravy, meat extracts etc…So it appears to be an inherited tendency of which I was unaware.
    The high protein from the diet & the sudden weight loss, catapulted my body into a full blown gout attack! I know it’s weird but it is such a relief to finally get a proper diagnosis after so many years. I am still not sure whether there’s other diseases present but am attempting to treat the gout see how I go from there.
    This story is probably a bit different to a lot of other people’s here but may help someone else.

    Thanks guys. I have microscopic colitis and have been on the diet for about 6 months, but still having problems. I eat about 4 eggs per day. Going to try cutting them out and see what happens.


    P.S. Steve, you have a sexy voice.

    Do you know if people have trouble with scdapholis in the beginning? I can’t tolerate the yogurt. I have been on the diet 6 weeks, but still on basic food phase. (i have pretty bad fructose malabsorption, so most veggies give me problems and all fruit)
    Should I just continue taking one capsule, and hope it will improve?
    I have a tendency to stop everything when I have more pain and gas.

      Hi Mary,

      The only time I see issues with the scdopholis in the beginning is taking too much too fast and having some die-off reaction. Consider ramping up slowly with 1/2 pill/day, then 1 pill/day, etc.

      The most important thing with Probiotics is to take them 30-mins before a meal (like when you first wake up) OR 2-hours after a meal. Otherwise they are not as effective.
